Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Mr. Hassan Rouhani on being reelected to the Presidency of the Islamic Republic of Iran
Russian President Vladimir Putin conducted the telephone conference with President of Iran Mr. Hassan Rouhani. Mr. Putin congratulated the leader of Iran on being reelected to the Presidency of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and also negotiated mutual cooperation of the two countries in terms of both bilateral and multilateral formats.
Heads of Russia and Iran acknowledged adherence to the agreements concluded in Astana, as well as observance of the memorandum on establishing de-escalation zones in Syria. The Presidential Administration reports as follows: “While discussing the current environment in Syria, there was accentuated the importance of accumulating collaborative exertions directed at political and diplomatic settlement of conflict in this country”.
Earlier Russian President sent the telegram of congratulations to the President of Iran. As a reminder on 19 May 2017 presidential elections were conducted in Iran, and despite controversial polls, Mr. Hassan Rouhani succeeded in being reelected.
